Hachem Haidar: FIFA aid will be given to the clubs

Hachem Haidar, president of the Lebanese Football Association (LFA), gave a speech on the official LFA Youtube channel after the end of the executive board meeting.

First, he wished a speedy recovery for the Lebanese player Mohamad Atwi after getting hit by a stray bullet, a couple of days ago.

Haidar then elaborated on FIFA’s money donation and how the LFA is planning on spending it.

FIFA will give out 1 million dollars for each national football association, divided into two payments, and the LFA has decided to give almost the whole amount to the clubs.

Effectively, the LFA will give out 280 million liras for each Premier League club, 90 millions for each second division club, 35 millions for each third division club and 10 millions for each fourth division club. Even though the announced amount is in Lebanese Lira, the payments may be given in US Dollars and in cash. The payments are to be paid for the premier league and second division clubs as soon as tomorrow.

Haidar also explained that in order for the LFA to get the second payment of FIFA aids, the clubs must present a detailed report on how they spent their allocated first payment, which will be l forward by the LFA to FIFA.

In what concerns the start of the season, Haidar confirmed that the the Premier League will restart on October 2nd but that might change if the government chooses to implement stricter decisions in order to fight the spread of the COVID-19.
