Observations and numbers from the first match day of the season

Oscar Ghantous in the 2019-20 U-17 League

Football came back in Lebanon after 1 full of year of stoppage due to various reasons. Here are some numbers and observations from the first week of the season.

13 is the number of goals scored in this round. Only one player was able to score more than one goal this round and it was a hat-trick by Mohammad Kdouh.

At 16 years and 319 days old, Oscar Ghantous is the youngest player to start a premier league this season (might be the youngest since 1990).

At 40 years and 136 days old, Mohammad Hammoud is the oldest player to start a premier league. Unlike Ghantous, Hammoud’s record might be broken by Abbas Atwi (currently 41 years and 23 days old)

0 is the number of red cards in this gameweek.

2 minutes is all we needed to wait for the first goal of the season scored by Daniel Abou Fakher.

Adnan Melhem’s goal was his second ever in Zgharta after his goal in 2014 when he scored for Racing in the 4-2 win against Salam Zgharta. Melhem spent the 2017-18 season at Salam Zgharta.

Mohammad Kdouh scored his 20th goal of his career. He scores a goal every 113 minutes. If he stays on this form, he’ll reach 118 (all-time LPL record) goal mark in 144 games.
