Lebanese players: Do they have their eyes on Malaysia?

Earlier this week, local sources told Fa Lebanon that Lebanese agents are working to bring some top Lebanese players to the Malaysian Super League.

This rumor was confirmed today by T. Avineshwaran, journalist at the Stars Sport: “Several Lebanese international like Khalil Khamis, Ahmed Zreik, Haytham Faour, Mohamad Kdouh and Hassan Chaito (Moni) have expressed interest to play in the Malaysian League. It is learnt that their agent is looking for opportunities here. #MFLTransfer2021”

Khalil Khamis played this season with Pahang. But he wasn’t able to re-join them in August after the league restart due to travel restrictions.
In 2015, Hassan Chaito “Moni” joined Terengganu FA in the pre-season but the Turtles decided to cancel the contract before the beginning of the league because of injury.

The Malaysian Super League features 12 clubs.
Each club is allowed to have five foreign players, but two must be from Asia and Southeast Asia.

The Malaysian Super League is a professional one unlike the Lebanese Premier League. Therefore, the winner qualify for AFC Champions League group stage, and the runners-up and third ranked club qualify for AFC Cup group stage.
