Lebanon can still qualify for the round 2 of the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship Qualifiers.

All the observers were saying before the game between Lebanon and Australia that there is a world of difference between the two teams. The Matildas are ranked 6 in the FIFA World Ranking while Lebanon is not even ranked.

Australia beat Lebanon 2-0 thanks to Cooney-Cross (24’) and Sayer (47’). It was an expected win. But for Lebanon it’s an important result because it doesn’t undermine the Young Cedars dream which is the qualification to the next round.
