Lebanon beat Jordan 1-0 in FIFA Friendly Game
The Cedars were able to extend their unbeaten streak once again after a 1-0 win against Jordan in Amman thanks to a goal scored by Omar Bugiel. Rabih Ataya provided a beautiful assist to Bromley’s striker after a wonderful run by the captain Hassan Maatouk. Bugiel netted his first international goal.
This victory is important for two main reasons:
– Lebanon is still undefeated after 15 games.
– It’s the first victory against the Nashama since 1999.
The Lebanese League will start on September 15th, so the local players did not have an optimal fitness condition but they showed a strong character.
One thing that was really obvious is the Lebanese defense that was compact. Mahdi Khalil made two decisive saves : https://youtu.be/wf3OqNHvpIQ
