Born to a Lebanese father on 9 June 1994 in London, Majed Osman spent his whole career between his homeland England and the United States. In 2019, the 6-foot-tall midfielder moved to Lebanese club Safa but, due to the league’s suspension, he had to look elsewhere. In 2020, Osman got his move to Jordanian Pro League side Al-Ramtha. He made his debut on 6 March, against reigning champions Al-Faisaly.
FA Lebanon: Congratulations on your debut! What are your impressions of the match?
MO: The game was a good battle under difficult conditions [rain]. Both teams had chances to win the game, but I believe we had the better of them, and probably deserved the 3 points.
It wasn’t meant to be, but overall it was a good performance to build on and take into the next game.
FA Lebanon: You’ve only been here a few weeks, but you seem to have adapted well. What do you think of the coach and your teammates?
MO: So far everyone has been very welcoming. I get on well with all the teammates and coaches. I’m very happy to be here.
FA Lebanon: What enticed you to move to Jordan?
MO: One of the most important things for me at this point in my career is to play regular football. Unfortunately, my first season in Lebanon didn’t go as planned and, with the league suspended, I was looking for a new opportunity.
I believe when God closes one door, he opens another. So, when my agent told me about an opportunity to potentially play in Jordan, it was an easy decision. I’m grateful it worked out.
FA Lebanon: How would you compare football in Jordan, with football in England or the United States?
MO: So far I’m enjoying it. Most teams here (in Jordan) like to try to play football and build out from the back, which suits my style of play. England and the US were more physical and fast-paced.
I’m grateful for my time in both countries, as I believe they all added elements to my game and made me a better player.
FA Lebanon: What do you think of the prospect of playing for the national team?
MO: Being able to represent your country in any regard is a great honour and, as a footballer, it has always been a dream of mine to play for the national team. I hope I can use my time at Ramtha to show what I’m capable of to hopefully be considered.
If the opportunity comes, I would be honoured and try to make the most of it.
