The local football scene was shaken yesterday, August 21st, with the news of former Lebanese international Mohamad Atwi falling victim to a stray bullet.
Gunshots from an unknown source around the Cola area of Beirut were heard, and Atwi, unfortunately being close by, was struck in the head.
He was immediately rushed to Al Makased hospital where the medical staff was able to stop the bleeding, however, they weren’t able to extract the bullet.
Atwi is currently is critical condition and will be monitored for the next 72 hours until surgeons can attempt to the remove the cartridge.
